MIM Invitational Tournament

Students attending the summer session are invited to participate in our in-house tournament to compete for fun and prizes.  The competition is for both Karate and Kobudo programs and consists of three categories including Forms, Sparing and Self Defense.  There are also separate categories for weapons forms and sparring.  Students may participate in one or more categories.  Participant divisions are established by age and rank.  Sign up now for this fun summer event!

Street Wise Combatives Workshop

Combatives workshops are designed to provide ordinary men and women with solutions to avoid and/or end a violent encounter.  Scenarios include robbery, abduction, sexual assault and rage.  Behaviorally realistic techniques are based on natural body movements and proven methods of threat avoidance and elimination. Training will cover simulated armed/unarmed confrontations that cover physical fitness, mental awareness, verbal responses, body posturing, avoidance, strikes, breaking free of holds and ground survival.

Woman's Self Defense Workshop

This self defense workshop is geared specifically towards women focusing on practical defense basics applied against common scenarios that threaten women including, Rape, Abduction and Violence. Training covers mental awareness, body posturing, physical evasion, fundamental strikes, breaking free of hold and ground survival.  Build confidence, focus and sharp reflexes by effectively applying material learned through simulated confrontations in a safety conscious environment.  Shape up, gain confidence and learn valuable life saving skills all at the same time.

Mastery Workshop with Grandmaster Tadashi Yamashita

Mastery workshops are design to focus on specific aspects of our arts to attain a better understanding of techniques, strategy and application.  Each workshop is taught by an expert in their area and provide the existing practitioner with supplementary guidance on their path to mastery, as well as introduce martial arts to guest participants.  Mastery workshops are valuable opportunities to learn and practice directly with the masters!
